This song was written for a girl I fell in love with years ago and it always seemed that we'd end up together, it never came to that but I still hold a candle for her, this song was written because whenever it looked like we were going to become an item, another girl came along and we fell apart, then after the relationship ended we'd always talk to each other like nothing had happened and we'd carry on flirting and becoming close again.

Now, it's unlikely that her and I will get together, but we're still very good friends.
